What should a Teacher Goals be?

Teachers are in a unique position to have a direct impact on their students. Teachers can see their work in action, see the changes they affect, and in so doing they witness firsthand their goals coming to fruition. An architect can hope to design affordable homes for people in need but may not necessarily meet every person who benefits from his noble intentions. But teachers have direct interactions with the people they’re helping, and whatever their goals may be, this allows them to see these goals realized.
In my teaching experience in Singapore I have also been educated in a way by the students.,there have been all sorts of candidates who have approached me for learning the language, some have been very committed and dedicated while others have made a mockery of the student-teacher relationship.
The ones who have stood by me over the years have benefited and improved tremendously in their schools and jobs while others who "wasted my time and theirs"gave education a bad name.I wouldn't blame them but the society in general which has deteriorated in general in morals and values.
I am inspired to write this,so that whosoever reads it,should know that I carry a wealth of experience behind me and with over 25 years in the Hospitality business I carry the weight of experience and wisdom to share my experiences with my students. My last job was as a General Manager of a Five Star hotel in Central London and when it closed down,I decided to teach and share my varied experiences through the medium of teaching.I would briefly list out some of the key factors that I have learnt over the years in nurturing a good student.

Inspire Students

Nothing pushes students to do their best work like a professor who takes pride not in his or her own accomplishments, but in helping others realize their potential.

Facilitate Mastery of a Field

The classroom is a training ground not only for future study in your field but also for many aspects of life. Great teachers help students master the fundamentals of their subject matter, which will pay off both for advanced study in their field and for students’ everyday understanding of the world.

Mentor Young Intellects

Long after individual facts and phrases are forgotten, your students will carry with them the intellectual skills you help them develop, from critical to creative thinking. Great teachers prepare students for lifelong learning.

Help Students Find Their Voice

Once you've helped students find something they want to say, you need to help them find a way to say it. Great teachers give students the skills to communicate effectively and the confidence to express what they think.

Help Students Articulate and Follow Their Values

One of the main goals of higher education is to help students figure out who they are and how they can be of service to their community. Great teachers help students understand the social responsibilities of their field and the social impact of their choices.
